Printable worksheets
Everything in this course that asks you to write something down asks for the same few kinds of record: what you did and saw, what you exposed and how, what went into a particular litre of developer, and how far an instrument sits from a reference. These are those records, ruled up and ready to print.
A worksheet is not a lesson
Section titled “A worksheet is not a lesson”There is no explanation on any sheet below. A worksheet carries the fields, in the order the work happens, with enough room to write, and nothing else — because it is used at a bench, in a hurry, often with wet hands, by somebody who has already read the page that explains why the field is there. Where a field needs explaining, the explanation stays on the lesson page, and each worksheet links the pages it came from underneath its sheets.
No field on any of these sheets was invented. Every one is something a written page of this course asks a student to record, and each worksheet names those pages. A build-time check refuses a link that does not resolve, so a sheet cannot outlive the lesson that required it. Where a sheet has an obvious field that this course has not earned the right to ask for — a measured optical density before the sensitometry parts are written, an acceptance limit for a timer nobody has characterised — the sheet says so rather than inventing one.
Printing them
Section titled “Printing them”Print from the browser: File → Print, or Ctrl/⌘ + P. Three things are already handled and
one is worth checking.
Paper size is not forced. The sheets are drawn to the intersection of A4 (210 × 297 mm) and US Letter (216 × 279 mm), which is a box 180 mm wide and 250 mm tall, so the same file prints correctly on either without scaling. Leave the print dialogue’s scale at 100 per cent.
The margins are set by the sheet, at 15 mm at the top and sides and 14 mm at the foot. If your print dialogue offers its own margin setting, leave it at default; setting it to “none” will not gain you anything, because the sheet’s own box is what positions the rules.
Navigation, the sidebar and this course’s own furniture are dropped, and so is everything on a worksheet page except the sheets themselves. What comes out of the printer is the form.
Backgrounds are not needed. Every rule, box and border on a sheet is a border rather than a fill, so the sheets print correctly with your browser’s “background graphics” option switched off, which is where most browsers leave it.
The version at the foot of every sheet
Section titled “The version at the foot of every sheet”Every sheet carries the course name, its own code, a version number and the address it came from, at the foot, on every page. That is not decoration. A filled sheet is evidence, and evidence is worth what its provenance is worth: a year from now, the version tells you which form you were using, and therefore which fields you were asked for and which you were not. When a sheet changes, its version changes, and a filled copy of version 1.0 stays a valid record of what version 1.0 asked.
The sheets

What is not here yet
Section titled “What is not here yet”The course brief names two more printable products that are not worksheets and are not here: the standard operating procedures, which are already written and already print, and the student inventory, which belongs with the laboratory planner rather than with these.
Within the worksheets themselves, the gaps are named on each page, and the largest of them has closed. The notebook used to record density as a rank judged against a named reference, because no written page asked a student for a measured optical density; Parts XIII to XV now do, and the notebook carries LN-5, measured density and exposure, with units. That happened the way this page said it would — as a new version of the sheet with a new version number, so that sheets you have already filled in stay readable as what they were, which is the whole reason the versions are printed on them.
What is still refused is a limit rather than a sheet. The curve-plotting set prints no acceptance figure for the reading spread, the illumination falloff or the agreement with a published curve; the salted-paper set prints none for the fix-down; the capstone rubric prints no pass mark. In each case the course has established none, and a printed number gets believed.
